Vice President Clinical Development
We are supporting an early-stage biotech developing a broad therapeutic platform as they make their first clinical development hire. This is a unique opportunity for a Vice President, Clinical Development to take a central role in shaping clinical strategy and execution from the ground up.
As the first clinical leader in the business, you’ll report directly to the Chief Strategy and Operating Officer and play a critical role in designing and driving early development programs into and through the clinic. You’ll also work cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, and external stakeholders to influence the trajectory of the pipeline and company growth.
Expertise in cardiometabolic or muscle diseases preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of clinical and regulatory strategies
- Act as medical lead for internal and external stakeholders, including board and investors
- Oversee study design, medical monitoring, and protocol development
- Support interactions with KOLs and advisory boards
- Collaborate with research and preclinical teams on asset triage and development
- Contribute to business development and scientific communications
About You:
- M.D. with at least 12 years of clinical development experience in biotech/pharma
- Strong understanding of translational science and early clinical development
- Experience in cardiometabolic or muscle disease is preferred
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment—start-up experience is essential
- Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities
